Guests Enjoy SPUD Juice at Outer Light Brewing Post-Christening Celebration

Outer Light Brewing Company continued the christening celebration Saturday afternoon, March 16. Visiting Idahoans and locals stopped by to sample SPUD Juice, the commemorative brew created by Outer Light Brewing Company in Groton, Connecticut and Sockeye Brewing in Boise, Idaho. The brew was named by the crew and is called SPUD Juice: Special Purpose Underwater Drink.

Since August 2023, Outer Light's Kurt Delaney and Tom Drejer; Sockeye Brewing's Ben Sopchak, and Commissioning Committee member Mike Allen have worked together to produce a beer to commemorate the future USS IDAHO. The breweries created a joint recipe. Then Sockeye shipped ingredients grown in Idaho to Connecticut to create an authentic Idaho taste. SPUD Juice was widely enjoyed during christening weekend. ….
