USS IDAHO Christening Information

We are getting excited at the prospect of the USS IDAHO Christening. We are working with the Navy and Electric Boat (the shipyard) to get a date as soon as possible. The dates are proposed by Electric Boat and approved by the Navy. We are striving to get four to five months’ notice in order to give the Idaho leadership and Congressional delegation time to plan and attend if possible. We also hope to see a couple hundred of our fellow Idahoans with us in Groton for this tremendous occasion. Keep in mind that the last USS IDAHO christening was more than 106 years ago. The battleship USS IDAHO BB42 was christened in June 1917. You won’t want to miss this.
